What is a private label manufacturer?

How private label is quoted.
Per-unit cost in a private label engagement is the sum of six independently variable components. A serious manufacturer quotes them transparently; a vendor offers a single round number.
- Fabric cost — typically 30-45% of total per-unit cost. Direct function of fabric grade, weight, finish and supplier.
- Cut/make/trim (CMT) — 25-35% of total per-unit cost. Function of construction complexity, hand-finishing requirements and category.

Confidentiality discipline
A genuine private label manufacturer will not name current clients without explicit permission, will not allow other clients to see your tech packs or samples, and will sign a mutual NDA before any technical document is shared. Sample programme depth
Request samples in your category and price segment — but be careful about asking for "anything you've made".
